Heating oil

Since 01.06.2023, only low-sulphur eco-Heating oil may be used in Switzerland.

Switzerland is supplied with liquid fuels and combustibles from domestic refineries and imports of finished products from European production facilities. The large regional warehouses supply consumers and have Compulsory stockpile at least 4.5 months’ supply of mineral oil products. In addition to the compulsory stocks, AVIA has additional stocks of its own and is therefore able to guarantee a high level of supply readiness at all times.

In addition, heating oil consumers ensure their own reserves with their tanks. This ensures their autonomy of supply. A homeowner can only secure this advantage with a storable fuel. When it comes to the supply of other energy sources, there is no autonomy of supply.
